Stricter Gun Laws? Really?

Another senseless shooting by another disturbed person. This time at a college in Oregon.  Same scenario, different day.  And Obama says we need stricter gun laws.

I feel that most people who reach the point of deciding to shoot random people don't care about gun laws.  They obviously care about nothing, and certainly not about anyone else's life.  So, what kind of stricter gun laws should we have?  Maybe if we limit to one gun per person, that would keep crazed people from shooting others.  Or maybe if we banned all guns the mentally unbalanced would never think to obtain one from the black market.  Why don't we just ban all knives, too?  They are used for killing people.  And we should probably ban automobiles. That way people who drink and drive wouldn't be able to kill people with their vehicles.  And airplanes.  You know, airplanes crash, sometimes with terrorists on board.  They should definitely be banned, too.  Oh, yea, rope as well.  I know for a fact people have been strangled to death with ropes.  Sorry, all you cowboys, no more lassos for you!

What a bunch of nonsense!  First, if every law-abiding citizen was armed with a weapon, I believe would-be robbers, rapists and murderers might think twice.  Second, let's enforce the laws we already have.  Let's up the ante.  If you commit a violent crime with a gun, it should be a federal offense, with a minimum 20 year prison sentence - no parole and no early release.  This would deter the repeat offenders who know they will get nothing but a slap on the wrist and maybe a few months in a local jail.

And as for the crazed maniacs, gun control and stricter enforcement of existing laws won't make a difference.  Most are willing to trade their life at the time of their actions.  I do, however, feel that the media publicizes it so much that is plants ideas into the minds of other disturbed persons.  Especially if they feel like they have a "cause".  And with all our great technology, people are at liberty to investigate and peruse things in the privacy of their home until they are ready to pounce.  And as I have said before, whatever is in these people's minds is learned.  Babies aren't born with a desire to randomly shoot people.  These feelings and ideas are the results of their lives and environment.  I suspect they were shy or geeky in school, maybe they were bullied or made fun of - I don't know.  But our job as parents is to teach our kids to cope with reality.  And the reality is, not everyone is nice to you.  And not every kid is the star athlete of the high school.  Regardless of our station in life, we must learn to co-exist with others.  And we must teach our children empathy from a young age.  And responsibility for our actions.

I have personally known a few people with the same mindset as these shooters.  ALL of these people think their whole life is someone else's fault.  They keep records of all the hurts people have done to them.  They play the role of the victim.  And their parents NEVER make them believe they are in charge of their own life, or that they have the power to change.  They usually coddle them and discuss how unfair others are.  News flash!:  sometimes in life, you just have to suck it up and move forward.  So what if people say hurtful things?  The only thing you can control is how you react, not how others behave.  I realize we can't always hold parents accountable for their children's actions, but I wish there were a way to make parents realize how they can help their children instead of promote life-long detriments to them.

And my final question - Why can't American citizens own guns, but radical terrorists are sent millions of dollars to amp up their nuclear weapons?  It is just me, or is there something wrong with this picture?

Americans Don't Want a Muslim Holiday

I have been following a facebook post by the Tea Party regarding the muslim women who wanted a Jersey City school board to declare a day off for a muslim holiday.  The only thing that comes to mind is "Redneck"!  Of course, I am a redneck, so I can use this label freely!

Nearly every comment is for the muslims to go home if they don't like it here in America.  And I agree!  These same women who are supposedly of the muslim faith, and shouting at a school board meeting.  Aren't muslim women not allowed to speak in public?  How can you follow that faith, but only pick and choose what you abide by?

This is the land of freedom and opportunity.  If you are muslim and came to America legally, and wish to observe this religion, that's your right.  But you aren't simply wanting to observe a faith and culture that is foreign to America and all that America stands for.  You are wanting all of America to celebrate it with you.  Not gonna happen!

We Americans are a funny people.  We are divided by race and religion, political affiliation and economic status.  But when you push us into a corner, all those things fall by the wayside and we are just plain Americans.  Patriotic Americans.  Americans who are willing to put our differences aside and unite for a cause. And the majority of us are redneck Americans.  Rednecks who aren't afraid to stand their ground for what they believe is right and good and fair.  Rednecks who are willing to pack their pistols and rifles and meet you wherever you want to defend this nation of ours.

As I have followed this post and all the comments made, in the beginning, there were random interjections by muslim people, but the "go home" comments far outweigh those.

Our fathers and grandfathers and brothers and sisters have fought and died to preserve what we have.  And if you think you're going to step in and take that away, you've got another thing coming.  We love our country, unlike you.  We don't want to live anywhere else in the world besides here.  And most of us are willing to fight to keep it that way.  So if you want to immigrate here legally and work and pay taxes like the rest of us, fine.  If you want to be muslim, fine.  But do it without trying to infringe on what has taken generations to create.  If you are so offended by America and it's customs, I am sure we can arrange some people who will gladly pay your airline ticket back home.

A Muslim Holiday...In America?

So some think we would observe Muslim holidays?  I can hardly believe this!  First, America is NOT a muslim country.  Second, YOU came HERE.  If you don't like America's customs and holidays, GO HOME!

America is largely a Christian nation.  There are many religions observed by our citizens, and as far as I know, Christmas is the only Christian holiday observed, and as commercialized as it has become, I am not even sure I would label it a Christian holiday at this point in time.

If you want to live in OUR country, fine.  If you want to be muslim, fine.  But don't expect OUR country to recognize YOUR country's holidays.  If you want to be sure you are off work for religious holidays, move back to YOUR country!

And speaking of religion, except for Satanism, all other religions observed by United States citizens are religions that teach kindness, love and compassion for others.  YOUR religion teaches hate, violence and killing.  You think we want to observe those characteristics?  Guess again!

I would not expect to move to Iran or Afghanistan and throw a fit because this largely muslim country doesn't let me have the day off for a Christian holiday.  (And I would probably be imprisoned or beheaded for asking.)

Hush up and go home.

Kill the Infidels!

I continue to be in a bit of a quandry about the muslim religion.

If I go by what I hear on the news, there are two types of muslims:  Peaceful ones and Radical ones.  So do those two groups have different quran's?  If I understand correctly, the quran teaches to be peaceful, like God, but it also teaches that if you are not muslim, you are an infidel, and must be killed. How can muslims claim they are a peaceful people if they abide by this command in the quran?

So, the great "allah" teaches two different things in the same book?  And I believe the "muslims" think all Christians are evil and must be removed.  So, doesn't it stand to reason if there are "peaceful" muslims and "radical" muslims, then there could also be "evil" Christians and "good" Christians?  And why are we expected to be tolerant and accepting of the muslim religion, but they are not expected to be tolerant and accepting of Christians?  If you moved here and are offended and don't like this culture, go home.  Why do they come here, knowing our laws and cultural beliefs, and then claim offense to what goes on here?  I feel for the lady who shared the political cartoon asking why they came here if they are offended by everything we do.  Why did they come here?  If I moved to China, I would not feel as though I had the right to immediately claim that their customs offended me.  I would assume I would have to fit in to their existing cultures - otherwise, I would stay where I was.

Our nation of largely-Christian people has been tolerant until we are now the  minority and the least defended in a court of law.  If you are muslim, and you buy land, you buy it as-is. The fact that you don't do pork should not give you the right to demand your neighbor's pig farm be shut down.  And if you are of the muslim faith and came to America legally and became a citizen, then you are an American.  NOT a muslim American.  I feel muslims should be allowed to worship however they choose, but not if it infringes on my rights.  And how many muslims have headed up organizations like "Feed The Children"  or "Red Cross"?  We as Americans, and we as Christians have tried to do our part to be productive not only to our country, but to come to the aid of other countries when we are able. If you want to be an accepted, participatory American, then do something to give back.

So, I guess the question really is, "Why did you come here?"  If you disagree with our customs and culture, what would make you want to come here and be a member of our country?

Ahmed's Clock

Continually amazed at what goes on in this country!

First, why has everyone cried "racism"?  If any other color of student brought that same contraption to school, I feel that the same thing would have happened. Is there no one in a position of authority in our schools that has common sense?  Why would you call the police without finding out the facts first?

Our government has taken away the right of schools and school officials to make any disciplinary decisions.  If this kid took it to show his teacher, didn't the teacher know him?  Don't teachers know which kids are normal and which ones are "out there"?  And why were his parents not called first?  Obviously they are middle-upper class people.  If this kid made a "bomb" or a "hoax bomb", why on earth would he show it to a teacher?  Kids who do that usually don't volunteer that they have a bomb, or at least not to a teacher.

This comes from the government meddling in private lives way too much.  When my son was 7, yes SEVEN, he was sent to the principal's office for shooting spit wads.  I had to go see the principal for spit wads.  In my day, the teacher would have promptly handled the situation without a call to the parents or notification of the principal - they would have told me to knock it off.  They might have made me stay in from recess.  They may have had me wash the wall.  But they wouldn't have contacted the principal.  I don't get why teachers immediately throw up their hands and bow out of every situation.  Are they not allowed to handle those things?

And if this kid showed this clock to his teacher, did the teacher not examine it?  I just don't get it.  Most likely he didn't show this to his P.E. teacher or his English teacher - I assume he showed it to a physics or chemistry teacher, one who would have been interested in his invention.

Why is is that every thing that happens today is immediately directed at discrimination?  I don't feel that was the case here, but I don't know why the police were called.

Indecent Exposure vs. Free The Nipple

In a town not to far from me, there has been some recent controversy over a "free the nipple" rally.  It is my understanding this is promoted by women who want gender equality.

I guess my first question is, "Why?"  Why do you want gender equality?  I don't.  I want men to open the door for me.  I want men to protect me.  If God wanted gender equality, we would all have been the same gender.  Men and women were made different for a reason.  We each come with our own unique qualities.

Men were made to be logical thinkers.  Their bodies are made to be more muscular in preparation for physical work.  They are wired to be the "hunter", the "protector",  the "master".  Women are emotional thinkers.  Women's bodies are made for childbearing. Women were not designed to work in the same capacity as men.  Women are the "caretakers", the "nurturers".

And as to the "nipples", as far as I know the sight of a man's nipple doesn't stimulate women.  But the sight of a woman's nipple DOES stimulate men. So, why do all you women want to expose yourself?  Some say to promote public breastfeeding.  Maybe I am from the old school, but there is such a thing as modesty.  I breastfed both my kids, but never in public.  Some things are meant to be private, and I believe that is one of them.

It's kind of like sex.  It is meant to be shared between a husband and a wife - in the privacy of their home.  Not in front of children.  Not in front of an audience.  Not for display.

Why on earth anyone would want to parade around naked is beyond me. There are things I don't want small children to see, and that's one of them.  And like or not, there are plenty of weirdos out there, and whatever your reason to display your nipples, they are taking note.

And if one of these women were my child, I would have given a long lecture at the very least!  Shame on you.  Grow up and put some clothes one!

911 May We Never Forget

I remember it clearly.  My husband and I were up getting ready for work as news broke of a plane crashing the Twin Towers.  We stood there watching, wondering just how something could have gone so wrong. Surely the plane lost power or something to cause the pilot to lose total control and crash right into a building.  How wrong we were.

As the second plane crashed into the buildings, it was now apparent, this was no accident. Silence.  Silence all over the country as citizens stood by watching breaking news reports. No explanations, nothing logical, only silence.

Looking back, we have certainly changed over these 14 years. Our country, on that day stood together as AMERICANS.  Not black or white; not baptist or catholic; not male or female.  Just Americans. Patriotic Americans.  Americans who were appalled at these horrific terrorists.  Americans who were angry and ready to hop on a plane and do some hand-to-hand combat with these terrorists. Americans who were astounded that anyone had the audacity to do this.  Americans who joined together to search for survivors and to help those they found.  Americans willing to leave the comfort of their homes and volunteer whatever assistance was needed.

Times have changed by leaps and bounds since then.  Now these same Americans are afraid to offend the muslims. Afraid to stand up for what they believe in.  Worried about being politically correct.  Standing by while our Americans are publicly beheaded. Our country has become divided by race, religion and culture. We have lost that sense of comradery with our fellow Americans.  I fear we have forgotten that feeling of unity, anger and tragedy that occurred on 9/11.  How sad that our country seems to be falling apart by this divisiveness.

May we continually be reminded of those true Americans who sacrificed their lives to come to the assistance of those injured in this tragedy. And may we never forget that patriotic spirit that coursed through America's veins that day.

Obama Thinks Ordinary People Are Small Minded

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbeLAQ3wBIs

Here is the link to this entire speech, made by Obama to Europeans about Russia.  He states ..."ordinary men and women are too small-minded to govern their own affairs..."

Ok, so he was talking about Russians, but really?  I think I am ordinary, as well.  And I don't believe I am too "small-minded" to govern my own affairs.  As a matter of fact, I would challenge the president to a fast-paced game of Boggle, and I'll bet I would win!

Whether you are talking about Russians, Americans, or anyone else for that matter, the fact that he thinks all individuals should surrender their thinking and actions to a "sovereign entity" sounds like....ummmm... Hitler, maybe?

Obama has disgraced our country time and time again.  He has tried to squelch every law-abiding citizen while giving countless benefits to illegal immigrants.  He lets American children go hungry at night while he funnels billions to countries who want to destroy us.  He has made countless "executive orders"  that I swear are unconstitutional.  He has bowed to foreign religious leaders while refusing to salute our American flag. He forces middle-class people to work like dogs, and then taxes them beyond the breaking point for stupid healthcare and welfare.

I   HAVE    HAD   ENOUGH!!!!

Why has he not been impeached?  He has violated his agreement with the American people.  He has forgotten (or maybe he knew it all along) that he was elected to SERVE the American people.  To REPRESENT the American people.  To HELP the American people.  The president's office is for the sole purpose of making sure our constitutional laws are faithfully carried out.  I don't believe he is free to pick and choose which laws are enforced.

He is making a deal with Iran that will eventually destroy this country as we know it.  Does he think HE will be exempted from death and torture by muslims?  Not a chance.  They have no value of the human life.  Will he still feel good about this deal if his daughters are forced to marry a 50-year old muslim who has 10 wives?  What about if his wife is on a plane that is flown into an American building, in honor of Allah, of course?

He is quickly advancing persecution of Christians.  Everyone has "civil rights", except for straight, white, Christians.

So, whether he was speaking to Russians in his speech, it reflects his thoughts about people in general.  Apparently he believes we are all morons.  I am sorry, but he should check the mirror once in a while.  I want him out of office.  I want him impeached. Shame on Obama for not being a patriotic American and putting the needs of the people at the top of the list.  When we stand before God on that final judgment day, I believe he will ask for mercy and find none.

...And the Persecution of Christians Begins...

I see they have taken Kim Davis into custody for refusing to issue marriage licenses to homosexual couples.

I just don't know what to think. From what I have researched, the federal government has left whether or not to recognize gay marriage up to the individual states.  And I believe the state of Kentucky has determined that union to only be between a man and a woman.  I know the supreme court handed down a "ruling" about gay marriage, but I don't believe that superscedes the states' laws currently in place. And last time I checked, the supreme court didn't have the capacity to enact or change laws - only to make rulings and judgments on laws already in place.

And I believe the judge that took her into custody warned her deputies in her office not to refuse, or they would suffer the same fate.  I thought the deputies couldn't conduct business if the clerk were no longer "acting".

I agree with her stance, and were I in her shoes, I probably would have done the same thing. I also think if I were a gay couple, I would just go to another county and be done with it.  But that never seems to be the path gay people take.

I suppose her county could impeach her, but I am sure that is a lengthy process.  I do, however, wonder what would happen if all others in that county's elected positions who shared her views walked out in protest.  I saw the chaos on the news of the nasty people shouting in her face in her office. I am pretty sure if I showed up at my courthouse acting like that, I would be taken to jail. Why is it OK for them to be loud and out of control in the courthouse, but she is the only one charged and taken to jail?

And while this is making headlines, Hillary Clinton, who may end up being indicted for jeopardizing our national security, and who plainly lied about Benghazi, is being allowed to campaign for president?  I guess if you know the right people, you really are above the law.

25 Years On Death Row

Missouri executed Roderick Nunley after 25 years on death row.  He had confessed to the abduction, rape and killing of  15 year-old Ann Harrison.  And upon charges being filed and a confession, the girl's hair was found at Nunley's mother's home, where the incident took place.

So why, when this violent criminal was convicted of these crimes, AFTER evidence supported, and AFTER he confessed, did he sit on death row for 25 years? Why did my tax dollars pay to house this guy all that time?  Why was his lawyer allowed to file an appeal, claiming that death by lethal injection was cruel and inhumane?

I understand innocent until proven guilty.  I understand the filing of an appeal if there is no confession or no physical evidence, as we certainly don't want innocent people being executed if they are truly innocent.  But I don't understand why it takes 25 years to carry out the sentence handed down. You want an appeal?  OK, make one.  But what exactly was this guy appealing?  He did it. He said he did it.  There was evidence to prove he did it.  The court convicted him.  What's left?  If we carried out executions within the month of sentence, we would have less populated prisons, less frivolous appeals, and less tax dollars for housing inmates.  And as for lethal injection being cruel - I believe if you are sentenced to be executed, it was for a violent crime.  And a calm, controlled death is far more than you deserve.

Are these long continuances a ploy by lawyers just to make an extra buck?  I can't say for sure, but that is what I suspect.  And what a waste of the judge's time and taxpayer dollars to even allow these people back into court.

As for rights of prisoners, if you confessed to and were convicted of a violent crime, you no longer have rights.  You gave those up the moment you committed that crime.  And if prison weren't a walk in the park, it might be more of a deterrent for criminals.  If they knew they would be subject to the bare minimum and hard manual labor, they might not be so nonchalant about committing those crimes.

Seems like no one in the justice system can get a handle on our crime and prisoners.

ANOTHER POLICEMAN SHOOTING!

Oh, my gosh!  Another policeman has been shot today.  Is there an end to all this violence?  When will it be enough?

Protesters recently blocked I-70.  Now, it is my understanding that a "protest" is permissible, but not when it is obstructing high-speed traffic.  Why weren't all those people immediately arrested?  I live near an interstate.  I am pretty sure that if I rounded up 30 friends and we stopped traffic there, we would all be hauled off to jail.  But because these people were protesting in the name of "black lives matter", all was overlooked.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this black lives matter movement is only serving to insert additional racial tensions into the lives of every American. And I believe that unemployed thugs are merely using this "movement" as an avenue to commit crimes and take revenge on policemen.

ALL lives matter. If your life mattered to you, you would be working at a job, and wouldn't have time to stand in the middle of an interstate and stop traffic.  I am not a racist person.  But I know some white people who are. All black people are not participating in the riots and protests. But the ones who are continue to give an appearance that is totally inhumane. Those protests and policemen shootings are either going to prompt policemen to change careers, thereby leaving a large portion of the population unprotected, or it is going to anger the policemen so that there are more shootings of suspected criminals, in the name of self-defense.

I think the protests (which, in my town are only allowed by obtaining a permit) should be temporarily suspended.  By that, I mean the president should put a halt to all riots and protesting.  Enforced by giving permission to shoot anyone looting or rioting on sight.  Most people doing that don't think they will get caught, and if they do, there will be a long, drawn-out court case.  End it.  End it now.  When the white policeman shot a black suspect, it was racism. When a black man shot a white reporter and cameraman, we needed more gun control.  Law is law.  Fair is fair. Call it what it is.  Stop worrying about gun control and enforce the laws we have.  And punish swiftly.

How many people, black OR white, are going to have to lose their lives before this chaos ends?

Obama, The Movie Star

Our illustrious potentate continues to amaze me!  At a time when our nation is in total chaos, our president leaves the White house to appear with Bear Grylls in Alaska?  Makes me think of that youtube video with the sedated kid who asks, "Is this real life?"

And why is he renaming a mountain?  First, who cares?  Second, can he really do that?  Wasn't Mt. Mckinley named after a president?  And our president is concerned about global warming and climate change, but Christians getting beheaded and selling aborted baby parts just don't rate high enough?  I don't get it.

Is global warming real?  I personally don't know what I think about that.  I'm not saying landscapes aren't changing, but hasn't our earth changed many times?  And if you want to talk about global warming, wait until the Rapture occurs and God destroys the earth with fire.  THAT is global warming.

We have white policemen who are afraid to do their jobs, especially if it involves a black criminal.  We have black people chanting to burn cops and calling them "pigs".  Does that same freedom of speech mean the policemen can gather in the streets and shout "Nail the Niggers"? Fair is fair, after all.  We have people of all cultures and races who formerly lived and worked together, now harboring racial tension, all due to our president, I believe.  Our rights to "assemble" and protest is now the right to loot and burn down neighborhoods.  How can all this be happening in modern-day America?

We deny our veterans medical care, yet offer immunity and free health care to illegal immigrants.  We let our American children go to bed hungry in a cardboard box, yet send millions to third-world countries who hate our guts.

And in the midst of all this, our president goes on a hike with a reality show star?

I guess I would liken this to when a "loved one" (remember that term) is gravely ill.  In the hospital, near death. Don't we sit by their side, hold their hand and try to ease their pain?  Try to give them some hope or comfort?  Any president worth ANYTHING would see our current situation as one that required an all-night vigil until things were better.  Of course, that would be, if our president "loved" America and valued it...

Teaching Life Skills

As I have grown older, I have noticed that this up and coming generation has few, if any, "life skills".  I have decided if I ever get the chance, I would love to teach a life skills class at our local vo-tech school.
As a business owner, I am amazed at the young people who come in and have trouble with basic communication, and some who walk in with a checkbook and have no idea how to write a check.
I see these kids come in to "apply" for a job, and they have no idea what applying for a job entails, or how your attitude and appearance affects your ability to get a job.
They don't know a thing about balancing a checkbook.  They have trouble following simple directions.  They can't count money or make change.
I am not sure how this generation has missed what we all considered "basic" knowledge, but it's missing, for sure.
When my kids were small, we gave them life lessons as we lived.  We played games that required counting money. Games that taught strategy, as well as learning that not everyone wins every time.  Sometimes you lose, and that's OK.
We taught them respect for authority, and respect for others.  They learned the hard way that being honest has tangible rewards, and being dishonest affects you for a long time.
I worked "on the side" doing taxes and bookkeeping.  They learned that sometimes you have to work extra hard to make ends meet.  They also got periodic lectures about how taxes work.
They learned patience, while enduring many lectures about character and integrity (complete with eye-rolling).
One child, who shall remain nameless, learned that when mom and dad find out you had a party while they were out of town, your friends' parents get a phone call telling them all about it.  And you have to go apologize to their parents.
Personal responsibility has been lost somewhere.  Everything is not only "not my fault", but apparently there are no longer any accidents - SOMEONE is to blame and SOMEONE will pay for whatever has happened.
I am not sure what the answer is, but someone, somewhere, sometime needs to enlighten our children to the way life should work, in every aspect of their lives - physically, emotionally, spiritually, etc.

No Guns = Lovely People...?

In the wake of the Virginia reporter shootings, the only thing our illustrious president has to say is "gun control"?
How about crime control?  How about law enforcement?  In our small town, local citizens know which convicted felons still possess guns, but our law enforcement fails to find them.  We know which neighborhood homes manufacture meth, but our law enforcement is not allowed to invade them for months, sometimes years.  Why?

When it's your 6th DWI offense, why do they still let people back on the streets after a couple of years good behavior?

And why is the media claiming this Virginia shooter was mentally ill?  Sometimes when people do crazy things, it's because they are people who have never claimed any personal responsibility for their lives.  Everything is someone else's fault.  These are people with little self-esteem.  If they valued their own life, it would give more value to everyone else's lives.

So let's assume that the president manages to take away all guns in the United States. Make it illegal to possess a gun.  Isn't that what we did with cocaine and heroin? How's that going? Let's make it illegal to drink and drive.  Oh, wait - it already is.  That's why people who have been convicted multiple times and have no driver's license continue to hop in a car while they are wasted and drive anyway. There are no enforced penalties - unless you are a white, straight, Christian baker.

Is there no one out there with any common sense?  It's not nice to say the "N" word.  But you know what?  People do it anyway.  But calling names has been going on since the beginning of time.  Get over it.  Why can't we concentrate on important issues? If there is no doubt that if you get caught committing a crime, you will go directly to jail, and NOT be given TV, internet, books, etc. and will be forced to do hard manual labor, how many people would be willing to take that risk?  If you knew that if you committed a violent crime, you would be publicly hanged, would it be worth it?  But if you knew the worst you would get is a few years in a place where you get healthy meals, TV, basketball, schooling, etc., what's the deterrent there?

I just don't get why we continue to worry about stupid things while skirting around the issues at hand.  I am relatively sure if a criminal wanted to, he could commit a crime with a butter knife or a chainsaw.  Should we ban those, too?

P E R S O N A L R E S P O N S I B I L I T Y!!

Oh, my goodness!  I cannot believe this story about the former news employee shooting the reporter and cameraman today. What a tragedy!

I am afraid our current society is filled with people like the shooter.  People who cast blame, rather than look inwardly, for their station in life.  From what I can gather, he was a disgruntled employee.  So, I am assuming that he either got fired or something and pointed his anger at these two people.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again:  This boils down to teaching our children personal responsibility!  From a young age.  When my daughter was a small child, she would do something that was not allowed, and then be disciplined for it.  Her response was always this: "You got me in trouble."  Mine was always, "No, you got yourself in trouble.  I just caught you."

You let your kids run amok and have no rules and not have to work for anything and this is what you get.  Go ahead - let them express themselves.  Sit them in time-outs.  Let them act like banshees.  But don't be surprised when they whip out a gun and end someone's life because their life didn't turn out like they wanted.

Life is not fair!  No one owes you anything.  Sometimes you get the shaft.  Sometimes you get a bum deal and it is truly not your fault.  But sometimes it is your fault.  Regardless, you can't just go around shooting people.  Whether your life is in the crapper or not, the sun still rises tomorrow.  Get up and DO something about it.  Improve yourself.  Move on.

I vote we get back to the basics of life.  Turn off that cell phone and interact with your children.  If you are the daddy, then be the daddy.  Be present in your children's lives.  If you hit a bump in your marriage, try to work it out - don't call the divorce lawyer at the first tough time. If your child is being defiant, give them a good old-fashioned spanking!  If your kid doesn't have the latest XBOX, so what?  If a criminal is convicted, stop letting them make appeal after appeal.  Be respectful.  Be courteous.  Be kind.  Stop crying racial discrimination for every last thing. Go to church.  Learn about God and try to emulate the grace we have been shown. Teach your kids to be content.  Stop having every minute planned for them.  Let them be kids. And stop having all your minutes planned as well.  Spend down time with your family.  Teach your kids that some people are nice and some aren't.  Rather than sue the mean ones, just ignore them.  Teach your kids by example.

You only get one life. If you spend it in a uproar over every last thing, it won't be a very happy one.  Count your blessings. It is what it is.  Just live.

Everybody Take Your Top Off!

So women want to go topless in public.  To all you women who wish to participate in this, I am sure there are plenty of men fully supporting you.  But I'll bet it's not because they are for equal rights.

Most men are all for seeing boobs!  Has nothing to do with rights - has to do with human nature. Whether your chest is painted or tattooed or au naturel, men will look. And they may even tell you they support your cause (whether they know what the cause is or not).

It is human nature for women's breasts to cause arousal in men.  You can label it however you want, but that's the bottom line.  And whether you are doing it for that purpose, or to "exercise your right", it will still have the same effect.  So if you get your wish and it becomes legal, good luck to you.  I hope all who wish to participate will also sign a statement not to call the police or cry out for help if you get raped. Human nature dictates that flashing your breasts constitutes an "offer" of sorts.  And there are plenty of guys ready to accept.

The reveal of your body should be reserved for your husband - not the world. There are plenty of children whose parents do not want them to see your breasts.  And for those claiming this is a "feminist" thing, you are only cheapening yourselves and further downgrading women in general.  And though it may be wild and exciting in "the moment" of your display, you will come to regret your actions. Do none of you have children?  Is this what you want your child to think a "mom" is supposed to look like?  Some of my kids friends had moms who were all too ready to give the world a peek at what they had, and believe me, that is not what their children wanted their mom to be like.
And do you think your employer wants a woman who does this representing their company?  Probably not.

Shame on you!  There are far more important issues at hand in the world today.  Go home and put some clothes on!

Do Black Lives Matter?

Just heard on the news that someone has written a text book regarding "Black Lives Matter".  Umm, so do white, Indian, Asian, etc lives NOT matter?
I am pretty sure if we wrote a book called "White lives matter" is would be considered racist and discriminatory.
How about this for a title - "Lives Matter"?  Lives of all matter.  Lives of the unborn matter.  I feel like Obama has stirred the race pot so much that racial tension is at an all-time high right now. I don't think any life is more precious than another.  And in America, of all places - the melting pot of the world.  The United States has so many races and cultures, and we have all managed to live together for many years. Now, all of a sudden, we are back to playing the race card around every turn of events.
I live in a predominantly white town.  But our town has many other races who live here - black, Indian, Asian, Mexican, etc. As far as I know, we are all the same.  We all need to work, buy groceries, go to church, read books at the library, have backyard barbecues, etc.  We all eat supper.  We all go to bed at night.  We all want to be successful in our lives.

Why, in this day, would someone write a book, and a textbook at that, that they wanted to be taught in schools?  History is history. It needs to be taught to everyone. When I was in school, we learned about how America was formed, the Civil War, how black people who originated as slaves came here and were eventually made free.  That's history - the facts.  We were taught sympathy and compassion for all races.  Is this no longer taught in our schools? We learned of Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King.  We learned about determination and persistence and how we all have the opportunity to live successful lives, and improve our station in life if we so choose.

I hate that policemen are now accused of being racist just for doing their jobs.  But the racism seems to be only one way.  If a black policeman shoots a white thug while he is robbing a store, it is rarely publicized.  And I have yet to see white people burn down their local stores in protest.

In today's world, no one owes you anything.  If you want money, get a job.  If you want a better job, get an education.  If you want new clothes, save your money and buy them. If you aren't happy with your life, change it.  Don't blame someone else and act like you are "entitled" to something just because you are black, white, or any other color.  If you committed a crime, fess up and take your punishment, and don't do it again.

Yes, black lives do matter.  But most definitely, they don't matter more than any other color!

Ashley Madison - Not for Sissies!

Oh, my child...Your sins will find you out!!!
Isn't this most outrageous?!

First, I had no idea there was a site just for cheaters.(I know, I live in a sheltered world.) And all those sneaky people thought their doings were hidden from everyone! I have heard it said before - if it's on the internet, it's pretty much public knowledge.  I believe this perfectly demonstrates that!

Cheaters never win and winners never cheat!  Although it's their business if they want to cheat on their spouse, it becomes MY business when MY tax dollars are paying government employee salaries who peruse this site on their paid working time.  I believe that anyone who currently works for our government and has an account with Ashley Madison, AND if it can be proven that they accessed that site while on the time clock for work, they should be fired.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

If they are cheating on their spouse, what makes you think they aren't cheating on their job as well?  Obviously some are cheating Uncle Sam out of payroll dollars by doing it while working.  In my book, if you are dishonest at one thing, you are probably dishonest at EVERYTHING.  I wouldn't want them working for me.

My mother's quote comes to mind: "Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive!

Immigrants, Aliens, or Moochers?

I heard on the news this morning that Mexico is trying to put into place a deal where if you would like to cross into their country, you fill out appropriate paperwork and pay them  a $20 fee.
Say what?????

So, while we are desperately trying to control our border, and while hundreds of illegal Mexicans cross into the United States DAILY, and then pop out babies and receive FREE healthcare and a host of other benefits, Mexico is putting controls into place for Americans crossing into their country?

What's wrong with this picture?

First, I feel like we have much more capability of technology and organization than they do.  Would we not be more able to control crossovers than they are?  And suppose we imposed a $20 per head fee to all who wish to enter the US.  From ANY border.

I am for "The Wall" Donald Trump speaks of.  When are we going to stop taking care of everyone EXCEPT Americans? It's basic common sense. You take care of your house before you take on the world.  And every country knows America is where you just show up.  People take our jobs illegally.  People get free healthcare illegally, while Americans can't afford it.  They pay no taxes.

How is this called "being compassionate" when our own are suffering so?

Moving Monuments?

This Freedom From Religion group must be crazy!  I heard on the news today they were objecting to a Desert Storm Monument being located on the grounds of a government office because the monument contained the Christian fish symbol. Again, citing the separation of church and state as their reason.
What a slam to our country's veterans!  These people, who left their families to go to foreign soil and fight for our country and our freedom, and some sacrificed their life, all as instructed by our government, are now told their symbol of bravery and courage can't sit on government grounds?  I am just guessing here, but I would suppose in the midst of gunfire, those government representatives of our country were praying to God - the God that's represented by the Christian fish on their monument. So, if they want a symbol on their monument, where is the harm?

And above all that, don't we live in a country that abides by democracy?  Let's vote!  In all branches of our government, the majority rules (or is supposed to).  So let's just vote and see who objects and who doesn't. And when the vote is over, no more complaining - the majority has spoken.

I also think these issues should be handled on a local level. Let each city or county decide what their citizens want and are in favor of.  I realize the Freedom From Religion has been in existence since 1978, but I feel they are "running amok"at this point about stupid things that make no difference.

What Is Religion, Anyway?

In the midst of the turmoil in our country right now, it seems religion comes into play more often than not.  The people who aren't "religious" want freedom from religion.  I, too want freedom from religion. I want to be able to worship, or not worship, whatever I choose.  And I want to be able to worship AS I choose.
The radical groups continue to speak of "Separation of church and state". But to say that religion has no place in government is a little hard to do.  Our governing laws (or most of them) mimic the Biblical laws set forth by Almighty God.  No killing.  No stealing.  Don't lie.  When the original separation of church and state came into play, it was to prevent the government from telling you what religion you had to be.
Our first amendment rights allow Americans to be whatever religion they choose, or no religion at all, if they choose that.  To my knowledge, that is still in force today.  So why the big uproar?  If you don't believe in God, that's your choice.  And IF you don't believe in God, why do you care what others believe in?  God commands Christians to love and have compassion on others, to show mercy and grace to people who don't deserve it, just like God showed mercy and grace to us when we don't deserve it.  If you are charged with a crime, whether you are guilty or not, don't you hope for the deciding judge to show you mercy and grace? Whether you deserve it or not?
As Christians, we have never tried to force non-believers to believe.  Our hope is that through what you see in our lives that we might be an example of God's love and compassion, and persuade you to not just believe in God, but know God in a personal way.  But if you still choose not to believe, that is totally your choice. However, you do not have the right to infringe on MY religious beliefs.  If I want to hold to my convictions, based on what the Bible says, I should have that right. That should include being able to display religious signs and sayings at my home, my business, my vehicle, etc.  The fact that a local Sheriff's vehicle says "In God We Trust" isn't a bad thing.  It means to me that as a whole, the department is God-fearing, doing their jobs as required, but with all the kindness and compassion possible.  If they had a sticker that said "in satan we trust", I would be fearful of them.
I don't understand why it's not enough that you are free to be an atheist, a catholic, a baptist, etc.

So, here's my question:  If, at the end of my life and you non-believers' lives, one or the other of us is wrong, what's the worst case scenario?
If I am wrong, then I have lived my whole life striving to be good, honest, fair, kind, generous, and at the very end, my heart stops beating and my body lies silent in the earth. That's it - the end.
If you are wrong, you face a much darker fate.  According to what I believe, as foretold in the Bible, those who reject God will stand before Him on the day they die, in judgement for the unpardonable sin, which is rejecting God.  The Bible says, "Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord".  So, I believe, that whether you believe or not, one day you will know that God is real, and on that day it will be too late for you.  The Bible says you will be cast into an eternal lake of fire, literal fire, where you will continuously be burned over and over and over.  That unimaginable pain and torment will be eternal.

Religion, or no religion, I choose God.

IN GOD WE TRUST

So now some anti-religious organization has objected to law enforcement vehicles having stickers displayed that say "In God We Trust". Really?
Your offense offends me!
I don't see what harm there is in displaying this message.  If you don't personally believe, then don't believe it.  You're wrong, but whatever - it's your life.  We have had "In God We Trust" imprinted on our money since 1861.  Have you sent letters to the federal government asking them to remove it from our currency as well?  If you are so against this phrase, then do you not spend money?  Do you not have a dollar in your pocket that says "In God We Trust"?  Doesn't that make you a hypocrite?

The following was a letter written by Salmon P. Chase, United States Secretary of the Treasury to James Pollock, Director of the Mint in 1861:
Dear Sir: No nation can be strong except in the strength of God, or safe except in His defense. The trust of our people in God should be declared on our national coins. You will cause a device to be prepared without unnecessary delay with a motto expressing in the fewest and tersest words possible this national recognition.

This was a smart man.  He knew the strength of a nation was directly proportional to their faith in God.  All the groups who object to this have gradually gotten God and His word removed from public places a little at a time.  Now, we have parents who aren't allowed to discipline their children.  Schools who aren't allowed to discipline students.  People entering public places and shooting random people for unknown reasons.  Students bringing guns to school and shooting teachers and students.  ISIS terrorists beheading Christians in our country. Think that's a coincidence?  I don't believe it is.

And here's my other peeve.  What is it, about God and Christianity, that is so bad?  God directs Christians to live by the Ten Commandments.  There is nothing but good qualities there.  Islam promotes mass killings because people don't believe like they do.  Satanism is, well, satanism - nothing good there.  Christianity is about loving your enemies.  Praying for your enemies.  Taking care of your friends.  Loving God. Respecting others.  Spreading the word of God and his love for people.  Striving to do what is good and moral and ethical.  Is that so bad?

ANOTHER Ferguson Shooting?!!

As my mother has said many times, "Criminitlies!"  I'm not even sure that's a word or of it's meaning if it is, but she always used it during times of disappointment and exasperation.

What on earth are those people doing there?  More smashing storefronts and rioting?  I have always though a "protest" was a way to make your voice heard in a calm, peaceful manner, so that the governing bodies could see that you were against (or in favor of) something.  I have never known of a violent riot resulting in getting your point across.  And why would you want to destroy businesses where you live?  These are black people, and they are destroying black-owned businesses.  How is this a good thing?

And this particular person in this latest shooting shot at a vehicle containing policemen.  Why would anyone do that?  What did he hope to prove?  And if that wasn't dumb enough, his father was quoted as saying he was "just running for his life".  Well, duh!  You shoot at a car full of policemen who begin shooting back, what else are you going to do but run for your life?

And why were those people gathered anyway?  They already made their point a year ago.  Of course I don't know if they realize it or not, but the point they made was they were mad, so they destroyed property of people who owned businesses and lived in Ferguson. Still not sure of what was productive about that.

Here's a little advice:  GO HOME!!  GET A JOB!!  RAISE YOUR CHILDREN!!  STOP ROBBING STORES!!!

Michael Brown was nothing but a street thug.  He robbed a store, for Pete's sake!  Had he NOT been committing a crime, he would never have been pursued for questioning, and HAD he surrendered upon the FIRST request of the officers, he would not have been shot.  And if he had a JOB, he would have been otherwise occupied on that day.

I will never understand this. If I bump into you at the store, church, on the street, or anywhere else, I will be polite and treat you respectfully, regardless of your color, religion, etc.  But if you are trying to hurt me or my family, rob me, or kill me, better bring your lunch - might be an all-day job.  Again, doesn't matter what color your skin is - I will defend myself and my family however I can, and if that means shooting you, then so be it.

Why don't these people stop being "black" and start being "American".  Do something productive.  Give of yourself.  Be responsible!

Planned Parenthood - To Fund or Not To Fund

The democrats have definitely made their mark these last few years, but this Planned Parenthood thing is utterly ridiculous!
Our local Pregnancy Crisis Center is funded by donations.  They do not harm mothers or babies.  They promote GOOD.  They help pregnant women, regardless of their race, religion, or lifestyle.  They counsel them.  They provide multiple options for dealing with pregnancy, all of which promote LIFE to baby and mother.  They give them a place to stay if needed.  They provide vitamins, tests, diapers, formula, etc. They do all this through fund-raising.
Planned Parenthood promotes abortions.  They kill babies.  They mutilate babies.  They sell baby parts.  Their executives are getting rich from this horrific trauma. They cause lifetime emotional distress for women. They have no empathy or sympathy for expectant mothers.  They promote nothing that is good or having a positive impact on the lives of women.

So, is it just me, or is this a no-brainer?  If you are going to spend my tax dollars, then I should get to vote as to where they go. And if Planned Parenthood is such a wonderful institution, let them fund-raise.  Let them do their business solely on the donations of others.  See how many people would like to donate to their cause.  If our government is going to funnel money to them, then shoot some to the Pregnancy Crisis Centers as well.  Sending it only to Planned Parenthood is most definitely DISCRIMINATION!  And in our day of political correctness, we just can't have anything one-sided any more.

Oh, yeah, forgot to mention that Planned Parenthood OFFENDS ME! And as we all know, if we are offended by something, it MUST be removed!

The Lion or The Lamb?

So, a dentist killed a lion.  Cecil the lion.  Famous Cecil the lion. Famous Cecil the lion, a major tourist attraction.
Social media has erupted in outrage.  A petition has been sent to the White House to have this man extradited for allegedly illegally killing this lion.  And the White House has agreed to review this petition and make some determination on it.  In the past three years, our government has made over 30 arrests for the illegal trade of rhino horns.

This same White House contains a government that deems it necessary to funnel thousands of dollars to Planned Parenthood for the brutal and gruesome murder of babies. An organization, who we now know, harvests baby parts to sell to the highest bidder.  An organization whose upper-management discusses those sales like they were selling auto parts.  Now, I am all for enforcing the laws, and having reasonable, responsible hunting laws.  But I guess I'm weird - seems to me that humans far outweigh animals on the scale of what's OK to kill and what's not.

How on earth can you say a "fetus" is not a baby?  If that is true, then how can they specifically harvest hearts, or livers?

And isn't this same government, that funds Planned Parenthood and all their nightmarish efforts, the same government that has a law that says if you kill a pregnant woman, you will be charged with two murders?  What's wrong with this picture?  And the same government that can charge a mother with child abuse or neglect if she chooses to drink and use drugs while pregnant, thereby producing an addicted baby at birth?

If you're going to have a law, at least have the same law across the board!

Guns, Schmuns!

What is Obama's deal with guns?!  I have my speculations, but none of them involve keeping America protected.  Why on earth would he think U.S.citizens would give up their right to bear arms?  I realize there are people who don't like guns.  I know there are plenty of accidents involving guns.  But the crime we see that involves guns has nothing to do with that.  I seriously doubt the liquor store robber stood in line at Walmart waiting for a background check to purchase a gun.
Didn't we make owning and using cocaine and meth illegal?  How is that working?  The dishonest, criminally-minded people WILL have guns.  Whether it's legal or not. Banning them will only produce a more lucrative job opportunity for guns to sell behind closed doors.
And how is it that a guy, going to break into your home and rob you will be persuaded to walk the straight and narrow by the knowledge that you have no weapons?  I love those signs I've seen posted that say their neighbors are in favor of gun bans, a "directive", of sorts, to the would-be criminal.
I would not be a bit surprised if Obama declares martial law before his term is up.  This would give him authority to confiscate everyone's guns, thereby leaving them defenseless against the government, and would ensure that no other elections could be held until it was lifted.  I feel like that would spark an uprising like never before! The phrase "The South's Gonna Rise Again" comes to mind.
I live in a rural area and everyone I know owns guns.  They don't own guns so that they can slaughter people.  They are used for hunting and sport shooting.  They don't own machine guns - just rifles, shotguns and pistols.  And I don't know anyone who has killed anybody with them.  In my experience, most people who use guns for hunting have been taught from a young age about the seriousness of owning and operating a gun.  All the cautions that must be used, as well as the responsibility of using and storing a gun.
And this latest theater shooter in Louisiana took a gun into a place that banned guns.  A place that banned guns for all, even those with conceal & carry permits.  So, he knew no one there would be armed.  So, all the law-abiding citizens who were there, NOT possessing their guns, were now in harms way.  If they had been allowed to have a weapon, maybe fewer people would have been shot.  We will never know.

When were younger, nearly every boy who drove to school had guns in his vehicle.  He may have went hunting before school, or might have been planning to go after school.  No one gave it a second thought.  And I don't remember one single time of those people using their guns to shoot someone.  Again, it all comes back to personal responsibility.  I am pretty sure if anyone had even so much as pointed a gun at another, their dad would have tanned their hide when they got home.  But now days it's so much easier to let your kids run amok and push them into activity after activity so you don't have to deal with them.  The government has made it nearly impossible to discipline your children.  I don't think Dr. Spock could have envisioned our society when he wanted to let children "express" themselves.  I personally didn't earn the right to express myself until I was an adult.  Prior to that, what I did or didn't do was a direct result of my parents - "If you don't get over there and pick that up, you're going to get a spanking." Or, "If you stay out past curfew one more time, we're taking away your car."

Parenting is not for sissies. It is one of the hardest, yet most rewarding jobs we have.  And our children didn't "ask" to be here.  They are given to us for a short while to love and teach and train. It is a job that is exciting some days, and totally exhausting others.  Parenting is the foundation of our children's whole world.  What is right, what is wrong.  Whether they are "good enough".  Whether they are worthy of being loved. What we do sets the stage for their entire life.  Part of our job is to let them fail from time to time.  Though we want them to have a flawless childhood, that is not practical, nor does it teach them how to cope with life.  I am curious to know about the parenting of these people who raised children who murder people.  I just can't believe how you raise kids who think the world owes them something and that everyone else is to blame for their station in life.  Kids who think revenge is better than seeing that your life is what you make of it. Kids who choose to give up or give in rather than pulling up your boot straps and knowing that tomorrow will be a better day.  I don't get it...

A Gentle Little Abortion

I hope in light of recently released videos of Planned Parenthood, that these people are exposed for what they really are - gruesome murderers!  How horrific to sip your wine while you casually discuss selling body parts of unborn babies.  What kind of mental state are these people in?  Even people who work in animal slaughter houses experience traumatic emotional stress from the repeated killing. Yet these women, who are in the business of killing babies, and then selling this part or that part of the "specimen" seemed to have no problem discussing it like they were selling Avon. I have to wonder, when these people lay on their death bed, what will be going through their minds?

I decided to visit the Planned Parenthood website. I am appalled at how they make this procedure seem quick and painless, and without effect. http://www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/abortion/in-clinic-abortion-procedures
This is their page, where they describe two kinds of abortion, both of which they refer to as "gentle". I am sorry, but there is nothing "gentle" about vacuuming out a baby and scraping your uterus for any remaining parts.
Here is a photo(borrowed from wyandotcountyrighttolife) of how an abortion is performed on a 23 week baby- grasping at body parts randomly, and finally crushing the head so it can be brought out.

This doesn't look very "gentle" to me.  The vacuum machine simply destroys the baby as it sucks it out, so you don't actually see the parts.  Again, doesn't seem gentle at all.

What I don't understand about this whole thing is why our government can spend MY tax dollars to fund these abortions, without MY consent.  And if they are going to do that, then let's be fair.  Fund the Pregnancy Crisis Centers as well.  Then both sides get fair and equal treatment. If I am correct, our local Pregnancy Crisis Center is funded solely through donations. So, our government thinks it is better to violently kill babies and cause emotional trauma to the mother, than to fund something that would help these mothers to either have and take care of their baby, or put it up for adoption?
And doesn't it take like a million years and big money to be able to adopt a baby?  And aren't there waiting lists a mile long?  Wouldn't it make more sense to give these unwanted babies to people who were anxiously waiting for one? Just seems like common sense to me.  But of course, our government has none of that!

ASPIRATION ABORTION — THE MOST COMMON KIND OF IN-CLINIC ABORTION

During an aspiration abortion
  • Your health care provider will examine your uterus.
  • You will get medicine for pain. You may be offered sedation — a medicine that allows you to be awake but deeply relaxed.
  • speculum will be inserted into your vagina.
  • Your health care provider may inject a numbing medication into or near your cervix.
  • The opening of your cervix may be stretched with dilators — a series of increasingly thick rods. Or you may have absorbent dilators inserted a day or a few hours before the procedure. They will absorb fluid and get bigger. This slowly stretches open your cervix. Medication may also be used with or without the dilators to help open your cervix.
  • You will be given antibiotics to prevent infection.
  • A tube is inserted through the cervix into the uterus.
  • Either a hand-held suction device or a suction machine gently empties your uterus.
  • Sometimes, an instrument called a curette is used to remove any remaining tissue that lines the uterus. It may also be used to check that the uterus is empty. When a curette is used, people often call the abortion a D&C — dilation and curettage.
An aspiration procedure takes about 5 to 10 minutes. But more time may be needed to prepare your cervix. Time is also needed for talking with your provider about the procedure, a physical exam, reading and signing forms, and a recovery period of about one hour.

Let's Just Call A Spade A Spade

Fury. Rage. Shame. Disappointment. Anguish.

These are the feelings I have had as I watch our lame excuse for a president do NOTHING to honor the Marines who were recently killed by a TERRORIST!  We managed to light up the Whitehouse like a rainbow for a bunch of screaming gays who wanted equal rights, but we can't even fly our flags at half-mast for Marines who were serving their country and who were killed by muslims on OUR soil?  Really????

Political correctness is a term my grandfather never knew.  Nor, would he have cared about it.  I continue to hear the phrase "peaceful muslims". That is an oxymoron!  There are no peaceful muslims!  The very book they abide by in their religion says ALL INFIDELS MUST BE KILLED!  What the heck is peaceful about that?  You want to be a muslim?  Fine, but expect to be profiled.  You are living in a country that muslims want to decimate.  Politically incorrect?  So what?!  Freedom of religion is one thing.  But when your religion dictates you commit crimes, as established by our constitution, you lose that freedom.

And I heard a news clip where a guy (sorry, didn't get the name) said at our recruiting stations we should have one soldier trained to use a gun and keep it in the building.   That's the dumbest thing ever!  Aren't our soldiers sent to boot camp and training, where they are taught how to use weapons to be able to fight for our country?  Why are they only allowed to use weapons to protect themselves and us on foreign soil?  I realize this was put in place by George Bush Sr., but that was before terrorists came to America.  We were able to change the definition of marriage, but we can't allow trained Marines to arm themselves?  What's wrong with this picture?

Our president has disgraced this nation time and time again.  I don't know one person who voted for him.  EVER.  I don't know one person who thinks he is doing a great job. I don't know one person who thinks he should remain in his position.  So, why are we not charging him with treason?  Or impeaching him?  Who is allowing all this nonsense to continue?  Where do I go to file a complaint with the government?

MY tax dollars are funding planned parenthood.  I object!  I am an American Citizen.  I am supposed to be able to vote to determine the actions of our government.  Why doesn't my vote count?  I am NOT in favor of killing babies, born or unborn.  I am NOT in favor of selling their body parts like they were cuts of beef.

As I see these horrendous things happening, I must wonder - would Obama still be in favor of bowing to his "brothers" is they beheaded his wife?  His children?  If they planted a bomb under his car?  Is he really in favor of all this crap, or is he so far removed from the effects of it that he doesn't have to think about it?

I want my president to have a variety of qualities.  He should be kind.  He should be an eloquent speaker.  He should have morals.  He should be well-versed in the workings of the government.  He should be experienced in conducting business. Personally, I prefer him to be a God-fearing Christian.  But above all those things, he should be an AMERICAN, and a patriotic American at that.  One who loves his country and all that it stands for.  One who believes our forefathers did a good thing by coming here.  One who wants to continue all the things that America stands for.  I don't think in all the years Obama has been in office he has ever even produced a birth certificate to prove he was an American citizen!  How on earth did this guy ever get to where he is?

CNN News Anchor Involved in Gunfight

I guess I only have one question about this attempted robbery that ended with the perpetrator being killed:

IS THIS NOT A RACIST CRIME!?!?!?!?!?

Why has no one cried out using the RACE card?  If this had been a white man robbing a black couple, I am almost certain it would have been charged as a "hate crime".  Fair is fair.  It seems every time a white cop has to kill a black person in the midst of that person committing or attempting to commit a crime, it is racist and there are riots everywhere.

And has it occurred to anyone, besides me, that if these people weren't attempting to commit a crime, or disobeying police orders to stop, there would be no need to shoot anyone?  And if all these people who are crying for GUN control, would instead cry for CRIME control, we would all have a lot less to worry about.

Most times, the people committing crimes, as was the case with this incident, have a long rap sheet of past run-in's with the law.  Obviously their prior punishments were not enough of a deterrent to make them want to stop doing illegal things.  That's because they know the worst they will get is a slap on the wrist, and a little time at the gray-bar hotel.  And during their stay there, they will be given 3 meals a day, TV, weight-lifting opportunities, outdoor recreational time, and an opportunity to take some online classes if they wish. What kind of punishment is that?

If we had stronger crime control and greater punishment for crimes, the rate would be significantly lower.  Why do criminals sit in prison for years while my tax dollars pay to house them?  If you intentionally take another's life, and witnesses saw you do it, and there is no question as to your guilt, then what is the hold-up?  You should get a speedy trial and be executed immediately thereafter.  If your crime was not violent, but your punishment is a prison sentence, then it should be PRISON.  I guarantee you the people who worked on chain gangs did NOT want to go back to prison when they were released.  Let's reinstate some hard physical labor of prisoners.  I know there are those who will say it violates their rights.  THEY violated their own rights the instant they committed a crime.  They did it knowing it was wrong and if they got caught they would be punished. You think your actions are without consequences?  Every action has a consequence - some good and some bad. If you knew you would get 20 years hard labor with barely enough food and water to sustain you, that might make you think twice before you robbed a liquor store or mugged someone or sold drugs.

I just don't understand...

Confederate Flag - Myth or Fact?

I suppose the fact that I was not alive when slavery was active in the United States makes me have little understanding about this new controversy.  But, I just don't get it.
The best I understand, what we now refer to as the "Confederate Flag" was originally designed by William Porcher Miles, Chairman of the Flag and Seals Committee.  It was proposed to be used as our national flag, but was instead chosen as a battle flag by the Army of North Virginia under General Robert E. Lee.  This is not the same flag some refer to as a "rebel flag".
So this flag has been in existence for some 150 years, and has been displayed by a number of both public and private sectors all the while.  What happened in the last few weeks that made this particular flag such a big deal?  I wonder if the people who are raising a stink about this know that it was created by the democrats. The party of our president in office right now. The party who fought and lost lives to keep slavery.  The party who believes in the government "providing" for the people, and thus, controlling the people.
Like it or not, it is part of the history of these United States.  It has been displayed in various places for many years.  Today it is offensive? Why wasn't it offensive in the 50's, 60's or 70's?
I'll tell you what offends me.  The NAACP.  The ACLU.  The United Negro College Fund.  It offended me many years ago, and still does today.  Think they will dissolve because I am offended?  Doubt it. How does one get something removed for being offensive?  I have been offended by many TVshows and movies, but so far, haven't found anyone who cares.
I have said this before, but slavery is part of our history.  It was not pleasant.  I am sorry for those who had to endure.  But no one alive right now has any first-hand knowledge of that.  I do not wish to resume the practice of slavery of black people, as I feel it is unjust.  But all those who are making a big deal about this, do you realize the people you keep voting for are making you slaves?  And color doesn't matter any more.  We are all being forced into slavery.  Our "government" is now controlling our health care system. They are making people think they are "owed" something.  They are making them feel good about receiving welfare benefits, and making them further dependent upon the government. Our government is attempting to control our religions, which is why the United States was formed in the first place.
Wake up, people!  Our government has far overstepped their bounds in what they have control of.  Their job is to protect rights.  But those very rights are what are being slowly taken away from the American people.  When we wake up one day to realize we live in a socialist country, it will be too late to change it.

All A Bunch Of Hypocrites!

As I read all the posts and comments on social networks, blogs, etc., I see many statements by Christians simply stating their opinions on the newest gay rights controversy.  For the most part, they are not hateful and condemning, but rather reiterating what the Bible has to say about it, that it is wrong. Yes, there are a few radicals, but I feel the majority are not.
But the replies I have read from those in favor of gay rights and gay marriage are atrocious! Most of the responses are, "You have no right to judge me", or "Only God can judge me",one that said "I would rather go to hell than be with you Christians".
First of all, aren't these "rights" gay people claim to have to be free to live their lifestyle and get legally married, the very same "rights" I have to say I disagree? Or did I lose my rights when they gained theirs? And didn't they say all they wanted was to have the same rights as everyone else?  The right to have legal marital status?  So why, now, are there lawsuits popping up against Bible publishers and bakeries?  Neither of them interfered with that right. Does this mean it was all a false front?  Merely a door opening for "special privileges"? Isn't that hypocritical to say one thing and do or mean another?
Secondly, if I am not mistaken, I believe these same people who spew hatred for Christians and God, are the very same people who ask people to pray for them or a loved one when there is an illness or injury and death appears eminent.  And the same people who reply to others' requests for prayer that they are "praying".  So, who are you praying to?  And who is it you hope others pray to when you need help?  I believe if I hated God and Christians as much as you say you do, I would ask nothing of them.
And to the one post I saw that said they would rather go to hell than be around Christians, I believe you will get your wish. And it won't be funny and you will regret your decision for an eternity. If you knew what a future in hell looked like, you would not be saying things like that.
So, for all those that call Christians hypocrites, you are right - there are many.  But there are also many who are not.  For some reason, a lot of people think Christians should live perfect lives. Though we strive to, we are human and fail miserably many times.  Being a Christian doesn't mean we live above everyone else.  It means we know what we deserve, but through the grace of God, He forgives our sins and loves us anyway. And that brings a peace that only Christians can know.  God says ALL will stand before Him, and ALL will confess that He is Lord.  And on that day, whatever lame excuse you may have for rejecting Him will not matter - it will be too late.

Let's Sue the LGBT!!!

So, the saga continues.  A gay man is suing Bible publishers for references to homosexuality. Aren't these the SAME people who previously stated that "God loves everyone"  and "God made me this way".  So now they are acknowledging that God says it is wrong?  What is wrong with these people?
In the beginning, they said they wanted "equal rights"  and "the right to be married".  Did they not get what they wanted?  And now that's not enough?  I am sure the LGBT has things written in their organizational and structural documents that is offensive to me.  Maybe I'll sue them for the anguish it has caused me.  I have read many things over the years that were offensive.  I have seen TV commercials that were offensive.  I have sat next to a foul-mouthed person at a football game and that was offensive to me. People have said hurtful things to me.
When I was little and would run home to tell my mom someone did something mean to me, her response was always the same - "Then don't play with them anymore."  If what the Bible says offends you, then use your right NOT to read it!  If you don't like the fact that I disagree with your lifestyle, then DON"T ask me how I feel about it!  Be whatever it is you feel you need to be, and be grateful you live in a country where you are free to choose.  Stop stepping on MY rights to disagree with you! You want to marry the same sex? You got your wish.  It's legal.  Stop whining about every last thing and enjoy your new-found freedom. A baker doesn't want to participate in your lifestyle by declining to bake your wedding cake?  GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!  Leave them alone!  Tell all your gay friends never to go there if you wish, but leave them alone!
I disagree with other religious "books" - the quran has many things that offend me, like advising muslims that infidels must be killed.  The book of mormon has things that are offensive to me. THEREFORE, I do not study, nor abide by their teachings.  But because we live in a country where everyone has the right to believe as they wish, I don't infringe on others who observe the principles and teachings of those books.
So, to all the gay people, you have stepped on MY RIGHTS.  My right to flip through the TV channels without seeing a gay couple.  My right to disagree with your lifestyle.  My right to say I disagree with your lifestyle.  My right to refuse to serve you if I so choose, even though we have a sign that says we can refuse to serve anyone for any reason.
It's not enough that you people have screamed loud enough for enough years to get to "marry" another, but you want the world to celebrate and participate in your sin.  I am not knocking on your door begging you to go to church every Sunday and condemning your lifestyle, so why are you not satisfied with what you have? When is it enough?  We Christians know God's love is not shown or felt by shouting loudly in someone's ear, but rather by the quiet assurance and peace in your heart.  So, while you were shouting from the mountain tops about your "rights", we have been quietly and fervently praying for you, while being careful not to infringe on your "rights" to live this lifestyle.  And now you wish to trample us into the ground?  That is not acceptable to me.  And you will not quiet me.
I feel that if a Christian coalition were to be established, maybe a class action suit could be brought against the LGBT for violating the rights of Christians across the country. For stepping on my freedom of speech.  For offending my freedom of religion.  And I am pretty sure, even though we have a right to assemble, an assembly of people protesting gay people would result in arrests.  I just never cease to be amazed at what goes on in this country, and the judges who permit it.

Welcome to My Padded World

I'm constantly reminded of the Boy Who Lived In A Bubble, so protected that nothing could harm him.  There continues to be people, government, etc. who want to keep removing things from us.  Let's remove the Confederate Flag - might offend someone.  Let's take away guns - might kill someone.  We should probably take away silverware - someone could be impaled with a fork or butter knife.  And we should certainly take away cars - just look at how many lives are lost with them.  We should increase the number of rolls of duct tape made to cover everyone's mouth - just in case they might offend another person.  Do these idiots really think if we remove all chances of violence and totally pad the world we live in it will make nicer people?  Where the heck has personal responsibility gone?
How about we teach our kids self-control?  And respect for others?  And respect for authority?  What if we gave our teachers the ability to punish kids for bad behavior?  And what if we made the murderers responsible for the killings and not the guns?  The Nazi flag and Hitler are a part of history.  Should we not mention it because it is unpleasant?  And who is it that thinks you are going to go through life and never be offended by someone? How about instead of ADHD and zombie medication we spend time with our kids and enforce rules?  I can't tell you how many kids in the upcoming generation I have seen get mad and hit or spit at their parents.  This is OK, but a Confederate Flag is not?
Regardless of the laws or rules our government tries to make or enforce, it all starts at home.  AT HOME!  I am constantly amazed as I watch parents typing away on their cell phones while their kids are desperately trying to get their attention.  And parents who spare no expense to ensure their children have the finest toys and enroll in the most sports.  I hate to tell you, but your kids could care less about that stuff.  What they want are parents who love them, love spending time with them, and LISTEN to them!  Go off the grid for a few hours a day.  Turn off that darn phone.  Make mud pies!  Dig worms!  DO something one-on-one with them.  Let them know they are important to you.  Let them experience some failure.  If you always get a trophy, what does that say?  In a race, there can be only one winner.  Of course their efforts should be praised, but you don't get to win everything, every time.  That's life.  Some people are nice to you.  Others are mean.  Some things are fair.  Some are not.
Our job as parents is not to have a competition with other parents.  Our job is to raise responsible, well-rounded, productive kids who are ready to tackle the real world once they leave the nest. I was always tickled at the parents I heard saying, "Well, MY kids don't do that.  MY kids would never act that way."  Meanwhile, my kids were coming home saying what little Johnny or Susie did over the weekend, and it was all I could do to not tell those parents, "Your kids are doing the same thing every other kid is doing - partying, speeding, etc."  Don't get me wrong - mine were no angels, and I wasn't stupid enough to think they were.  They had consequences for their actions.  They hated us on more than one occasion.  We were "unfair" many times.  I spanked my kids when they were little.  They knew should they ever decide to draw back as though to hit me, they would have a very red behind that day. They may not have always liked us, but they knew better than to disrespect us.
To those who think "spanking" is "beating" you are wrong.  As a child the fear of pain from a spanking is what kept me from doing a lot.  And if we were doing something wrong, any adult was likely to twist our ear or give us a swat, then tell our folks, who would probably hand out another spanking when we got home.  And there was always that walking spanking that was the worst.  Mom would grab one hand and swat me every step home while shouting in my ear. I lived.  I grew up.  I knew better than to do that again.
Until we return to a place where parents can teach and discipline their kids, this world will continue to go to hell in a handbasket. And taking away every possible sharp object or harsh word won't make a hoot of a difference if we don't teach personal responsibility for our actions.  Let's stop being "politically correct" and start being "Biblically correct"!

The Butcher, The Baker, The Mental Pain Maker

Oh. My. Goodness.  I have just read that the bakery who refused to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple has been ordered to pay that couple $135,000 for pain and suffering.  Really?  Would this same couple have sued if they were just too booked up to make their cake?  Or what about if they were known in their town for not paying their bills.  Or what if they were just big jerks?  Is there any acceptable reason to refuse service to someone?  And in my book, this is definitely considered infringement on freedom of religion.
If I own a business, I should have the right to serve or not serve anyone I choose.  For any reason I choose.  EVEN if it is discriminatory!  Of course, I will be subject to the repercussions of my actions by the people I refuse to serve.  They may tell their friends and those friends may never patronize my business.  But it is still my right to choose! But do they have the right to sue me for something I have not done?  Does this mean that if I go to a bar and get in a fight and the owner tells me not to return, I can  now sue him for my mental anguish caused by not being able to go back there?  How about if I go to Walmart and shoplift and they tell me not to come back?  This opens the door to a host of stupid lawsuits.  And who on earth are the judges who rule on these cases?  Do they not have any common sense?
I can understand if the bakery agreed to make the cake, and then a day prior to the wedding changed their mind.  That would be too close to get another.  But this was months before their wedding, and there was no agreement, ever.  So what the heck are they suing for?
And homosexual people are saying they are discriminated against.  Now, I can't speak for anyone else, but discrimination should be a term used for something a person can't help, like the color of their skin, or their mental capacity.  Who you choose to have sex with is most definitely something that is changeable.  I hear, "You can't help who you love"over and over.  But doesn't society look down on that poor girl who stays with her abusive husband because she "loves" him.  And I am pretty sure the DFS would be a little discriminatory against the girl whose boyfriend that was charged with child molestation continues to let him live in her home, even though she can't help who she loves.
I feel for this bakery owner.  This will most likely put them out of business, all because they didn't want to make a cake.  And their right to free enterprise has been taken away.  How sad.

If Gay People Won, What Exactly Did They Win?

What a sad, sad day for our country!  I absolutely cannot believe gay marriage has been legalized, and by supreme court justices, no less!  I currently wasn't aware they had the power to make laws and/or change our constitution. I have been taught that they were to be the final interpretation of laws already in place. Speaking of interpretation, let's talk.  The Bill of Rights guarantees us certain things.  First is freedom of or from religion.  Freedom of speech.  Freedom to assemble. Freedom to petition the government.  Many more rights are guaranteed by our Bill of Rights, but this first amendment seems to be open to a huge cross-section of interpretation.
Freedom of religion. I have been given the right to believe whatever I choose and call that my religion.  If my religion believes that stealing is wrong, I am guaranteed the right to say I think stealing is wrong (freedom of speech).  If my religion believes homosexuality is wrong, I am guaranteed the right to say I think it is wrong.
I have been amazed watching Facebook posts from non-Christain people quoting Bible verses (out of context of course) stating "Love one another" and "Judge not, lest ye be judged".  Let's think about those two quotes from the Bible.  Matthew 7:1-3 states, "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged; and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.  And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?"

So the questions is, are Christians judging homosexuals?  Well, they shouldn't be.  This verse is a reminder from God to Christians to examine your own life before you condemn another's.  We are told to judge with "righteous" judgement.  I don't believe God meant for us to reach a point where we think we are perfect, and then go around condemning everyone else who isn't.  1. We are not, nor will any of us ever be perfect.  2.  We are not to "condemn" someone else - that is God's job.  The Bible says Jesus Christ will judge all men.  To say that I will ever attain the status to be able to judge someone else in the manner of God is preposterous! John 8:7 says "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone".  I have seen this verse multiple times on Facebook.  Again, taken out of context.  In this chapter, the Pharisees were trying to set a trap for Jesus, who was teaching in the temple. They had caught a woman in the very act of adultery.  They hauled her in to tell Jesus what she had done and let Him know that the current punishment for this crime was to stone her to death. They were waiting to see what He would say.  His statement to them was "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."  This was a pointed statement to remind them that we ALL have sin in our lives, whether we think it is big or small, it is still sin in God's eyes.  One by one, they all left the temple, knowing that Jesus knew what was in each man's heart. Then Jesus asked the sinful woman, "Where are they?  Has no one condemned (or judged) you?" She replied, "No one, Sir."  Then Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you. Go and leave your life of sin." Does this mean Jesus was condoning her behavoir?  Absolutely not!  He was demonstrating God's love for us.  Even in the midst of great sin, God does still love us.  But He hates our sin.  He gives us every chance to turn and repent and follow Him.
I am equally amazed at the "Christians" I have seen posting things like, "Everyone has the right to be happy." and "You can't help who you fall in love with."  As Christians, we are commanded to "love one another".  We are never commanded to condone and celebrate sin.  We are to love all people, even the vilest of sinners.  We are shown by the example of Jesus, who dined and conversed with a multitude of sinners, that the heart of man is mostly reached through love.  We are to lovingly and gracefully point out the sin of a brother, that is, another Christian, that through God's guidance they may realize their sin and repent of it.  There is a great difference between pointing out what God says is sin, and "judging" someone.  But apparently my right to "free speech" is now called "judging" by society.  And Jesus never minced words with sinners.  When He spoke to the woman at the well, he didn't him-haw around.  He told her to go get her husband.  She said she didn't have one.  He told her how right she was - she had previously had 5 husbands, and the one she was living with now wasn't her husband at all.  He didn't try and cover it up, or mix it with something else, He just laid it all out on the table.  She was not a Christian.  Without the love and conviction of God's Holy Spirit, a person's sense of right and wrong is a little off.  They mostly live in the "it makes me feel good, so it must be ok" spirit.  So, to those people, I suppose when their sin is pointed out, they take immediate offense to it. And to those who are unsaved, without the Holy Spirit living within them, you can't know the true inner joy and peace that comes from trying to live a life pleasing to God. The calm assurance that you have when you are walking in God's will can't be described to them in an understandable way.

God gave us all free will.  In the Garden of Eden, Eve was given free will.  She was temped by Satan, and caved under pressure. From that day on, Jesus Christ is the only man to be tempted by Satan and never, ever give in.  All of us have wants, thoughts, urges, etc. that are sinful - it's our fleshly nature.  But we all also have the power to choose what we will do.  And I think we can all say that sometimes we stand strong and do the right thing, and sometimes we crash and do the wrong thing.  When we do wrong, we are to repent - to be truly sorry for whatever sin we have committed and ask God's forgiveness.  Homosexual people generally claim they can't help that they are attracted to the same sex.  I personally don't believe that if you are a Christian, walking with God, you will have those "uncontrollable urges or feelings".  On the other hand, when we are tempted by whatever thoughts or feelings we have, we do, in fact, have the power to not act on them.  An alcoholic has urges to drink.  A recovering alcoholic has urges to drink.  The difference between the two is their choice of action.

I see where people are constantly stating they have a "right" to be happy.  Where did you ever get that idea?  As far as I know, God did not promise happiness.  Happiness being the feeling you get from your external circumstances, or things that happen around you.  This feeling is of the flesh and is short-lived. God promised us hope, peace and comfort.  Hope for a future.  Hope for eternal life with Him.  Peace in our hearts, whether our external circumstances are good or bad.  Comfort in knowing that whatever happens in this earthly world, it is, at best, temporary, and our security lies in knowing we will spend eternity in Heaven with God if we are saved.  And if we all got what we "deserved", we would all be cast into an eternal, burning, fiery hell.  It is only by the grace of God, and by the sacrifice of the life of Jesus Christ that we have hope for something other than hell.

I also see all the comments stating that homosexuality is no greater sin than any other sin.  That is totally correct!  Sin(s) have been given "levels of badness" by humans.  In God's eyes, lying about someone is no worse than molesting a child.  But so far, I have seen many more people be "judged" by us and go to prison for child molestation than for lying.  And if society is going to condone and celebrate homosexuality, why not celebrate some other things as well?  How about if I want to french-kiss my horse in a parade? Would society look down on that?  Why?  All sin is the same, right?  Or what if all the child molesters had a convention where everyone brought a child and molested them and then had a big party after?  Sin is sin, after all.  If I wanted to embezzle money from a big company I worked at, but it made me feel really good, and I had always wanted a lot of money, shouldn't I be able to get someone to make a law that says it is ok? I can't help it if I have always wanted a lot of money.  And what if a boy, who is, say 14 thinks he is homosexual and wants to experiment with a man of, say, 50?  Is that still considered child molestation, or is it now protected by our new law, which is open to interpretation?
You can see how this is merely the beginning of a slippery slope.  I fear there will be many more sinful things condoned by our society.  The Bible foretells of things to come that show us signs that the return of Jesus Christ is near.  Signs that are appearing all around us today.  Judgement WILL come, but it will not be by your Facebook friends.  It will be by the King of Kings, God Himself.  And for the people who are not saved, when they stand in judgement before God, whatever excuse or reason they give will not matter.  The question will be whether you accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, or whether you rejected Him and chose this world, sin and Satan as your guide.  There will be no gray areas.  There will be no room for explaining why you chose what you chose.  Either you chose God, or you chose the devil.  You get eternal life either way.  As for me, I choose to spend my eternity with the one who loved me so much He sacrificed his only Son to pay the price for my sins.  I pray the lost people would find the love of God before it is too late.
